Robert A. Curtis, a partner, earned his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his J.D from Pepperdine University School of Law. Robert is admitted to the State Bar of California and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Southern and Northern Districts of California. Additionally, Robert is admitted to practice in the Western District of Michigan, and before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Robert practices in the areas of class actions, complex business litigation, lender liability and Internet/e-commerce litigation.
Robert plays an integral role in the firm's class action practice including litigating cases which have resulted in a $47 million settlement against AT&T Wireless, a $20 million settlement against Verizon California, Inc. and a $4.4 million dollar settlement against T-Mobile. Robert and the firm's managing partner, Peter J. Bezek, have recently tried several matters together and Robert is co-counsel in some of the firm's largest cases in the areas of business competition and lender liability.
Robert has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in the 2008, 2009 and 2010 edition of the Super Lawyers publication. Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars are selected based on peer recognition and professional achievement and according to Law & Politics Magazine, only approximately 2.5 percent of the best up-and-coming attorneys in Southern California are selected for inclusion on the “Rising Stars” list.
Robert is an active member in the Santa Barbara County Bar Association and sits on the Board of Directors for the Santa Barbara Country Bar Foundation and on the Alumni Advisory Board for the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Law at Pepperdine University School of Law.
