Prior to joining FBBC, Justin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UCLA, graduating Summa Cum Laude and with College Honors in 1999. In 2002, Justin graduated from the University of California Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), earning his Doctorate of Jurisprudence and receiving Boalt's Honorable Advocate Award. Prior to graduation, Justin was an extern for the Honorable Ruggero J. Aldisert, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. And, Justin was also Director of Boalt's First Year Moot Court Program, Articles Editor and Symposium Committee Member on the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law, and an Associate Editor on the Berkeley Technology Law Journal.
Justin is a member of the California State Bar and the Nevada State Bar, and is admitted to practice in all State-level courts in the State of California and the State of Nevada, the United States Federal District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Justin has been recognized four years in a row as one of Southern California SuperLawyers Rising Stars - an award that goes to the top 2.5% of Southern California's qualifying lawyers. Justin is also a member of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Nevada.
Justin's current caseload includes class action Ponzi schemes involving major institutional lenders and insurers, several lender liability cases against national financial institutions and banks, a putative national class action against an airline company involving baggage fees, litigation involving oil and gas interests, 900+ individual FLSA cases against a national employer for misclassification and off-the-clock claims going back to 1998, and several IP and entertainment law cases concerning, actors' and producers' rights and musicians' rights.
