Justin joined FBBC in 2003 and became a Partner in 2009. Since joining FBBC, Justin has served the Firm’s clients in the areas of Lender Liability, Ponzi/Fraud, FLSA Collective Actions, Class Actions, Copyright, and Appeals. Justin heads the Firm’s writing department and wage and hour department. Justin has taken cases start to finish through jury trials in federal and state courts that have resulted in multi-million dollar verdicts favorable to the clients. Other cases that Justin has worked on have settled before trial in the tens of millions of dollars. Justin’s current caseload includes the Firm’s largest wage and hour and Ponzi scheme cases, including a 1000-plus member opt-in case against a national employer for misclassification and off the clock time. Justin also represents actors and producers in entertainment law matters and in litigation against major Hollywood studios and distributors.
Prior to joining FBBC, Justin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UCLA, graduating Summa Cum Laude and with College Honors in 1999. In 2002, Justin graduated from the University of California Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), earning his Doctorate of Jurisprudence and receiving Boalt’s Honorable Advocate Award. Prior to graduation, Justin was an extern for the Honorable Ruggero J. Aldisert, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. And, at Boalt, Justin was also Director of the Boalt’s First Year Moot Court Program, Articles Editor and Symposium Committee Member on the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law, and an Associate Editor on the Berkeley Technology Law Journal.
Justin has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in the 2008, 2009 and 2010 edition of the Super Lawyers publication. Super Lawyers Rising Stars are selected based on peer recognition and professional achievement. According to Law & Politics Magazine, only approximately 2.5 percent of the best up-and-coming attorneys in Southern California are selected for inclusion on the “Rising Stars” list.
Justin is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice in the State of California and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California.
